High Iron Removal and MoreOur DEFERUM systems can deal with iron concentrations from 0.3 to 75 ppm (on a non-reagent basis), and also with other pollutions (hydrogen sulfide, arsenic, methane, radon, chromaticity, CO2, manganese, organic substances, etc.). The system itself has no pumps, no compressors, and no electrical, rotating or moving parts - virtually nothing to go wrong. Backwash is hydro-automatic - i.e. is controlled by levels of water in the system. Only 0.8 to 1.6 % of daily water flow is used for backwashing - depending on the initial levels of iron. The system will backwash on its own when it is ready to backwash and the frequency of backwash is approximately once a day. Simplicity of the system came through hard research and development over the past 12 years. Groundwater users need to have a realistic, cost-effective and reliable treatment system applicable for low, medium and high levels of iron. Now they can and we can help. For example, we used a 100 m³/day combined “DEFERUM” and “DEMAGNUM” systems for the removal of 75 mg/l of iron and 4.2 mg/l of manganese from groundwater and non-reagent pH correction at one of the largest barramundi fish farms in NSW, Australia. | Parameter Water | Ground Water | Treated Water | | pH | 5.5 | 6.7 (7.3*) | | Iron | 75 mg/l | 0.0 mg/l | | Manganese | 4.2 mg/l | 0.05 mg/l | | * Optional additional aeration/degassing of treated water |
